WHP Airport Safety & Security Working Group

The Whiteman Airport Safety and Security Working Group is comprised of a group of airport stakeholders who will meet on a regular basis to discuss current, pending and potential measures to improved safety and security at Whiteman Airport and to make recommendations to the Los Angeles County Aviation Division and/or American Airports regarding the same. Working Group members include representatives of the Whiteman Airport Association, commercial and non-commercial tenants, the Air Traffic Control Tower and American Airports . Guest participants may also include, among others, members of the L.A. County Aviation Commission, L.A. County Aviation Division, Federal Aviation Administration, or non-profit organizations active at Whiteman Airport . Meetings will be held quarterly during the months of March, June, September, and December.

The first meeting was held Thursday, March 12, 2009.

The Working Group has been organized, and meetings are coordinated, by American Airports. Please direct all questions and/or comments to Jason Morgan, Whiteman Airport Manager at (818) 896-5271 or jmorgan@americanairports.net.

The latest issue of CALPILOTS from the California Pilots Association.
The County of Los Angeles is developing an Airport Master Plan for Whiteman Airport.  An important plan objective is to incorporate improvements that are felt needed by exising and future airport users.  To this end, the County wants your comments by way of an online survey.  To offer your input to the County as an airport user, click here to fill out the survey.

The Whiteman Airport Association is an alliance between Whiteman tenants, American Airports Corporation management, Los Angeles County, the Whiteman Control Tower and the Pacoima area community.  The goal is to keep the airport open and operating efficiently and safely.  It will enable all parties concerned with the airport to work together toward that goal.
